Meet the Mother Daughter Duo Behind Downtown St. Pete’s Newest Independent Bookstore

At The Book Lounge in Downtown St. Pete, we believe stories have the power to connect us and our story starts with one too.

We’re Natalya and Pamela, a mother and daughter who decided to turn a shared dream into something real. We wanted to create a cozy, welcoming independent bookstore and book café where guests could escape, unwind, and feel at home.

Books have always been more than entertainment for us. They’re doorways into new worlds. And when you pair them with a board game, a warm cup of coffee, or a glass of wine, it becomes something even more special. Board games have been a part of our family for as long as we can remember. Since the kids were little, family game nights have been our thing. Even now, when we all get together, someone always pulls out a game. It’s how we laugh, connect, and spend real time together. We knew we had to bring that same feeling into The Book Lounge.

I left the corporate world to follow this dream and Pamela chose to attend USF St. Pete so she could work alongside me and help build this space from the ground up.

This isn’t a chain. The Book Lounge is a family owned and operated labor of love right here in the heart of St. Petersburg Florida created by two women who love stories, cozy vibes, board games, and building community.
