Permit Delays Postpone Our Opening But We’re Still Turning the Page in Downtown St. Pete

If you’ve been following along, you’ve seen the shelves we’ve built, the cozy reading corners we’ve styled, and the vision we’ve shared for The Book Lounge in Downtown St. Pete. What you haven’t seen is how long it takes to get city permits. Let’s just say it’s taken longer than we ever imagined.

We originally planned to open earlier this summer but we’re still waiting on final approvals from the City. While that means a little delay, we’re still aiming for an early September opening and will keep everyone updated here and on Instagram and TikTok @thebookloungestp.

In the meantime, we’re continuing to work behind the scenes. We’re picking books for upcoming book clubs, finishing up our wine and coffee menus, organizing craft nights and game events, and putting all the finishing touches on what we hope becomes your favorite little escape in the city.
